I had to use a laundromat today for the first time. No cute girls like in the movies or commercials. In fact, there were no girls there at all. How disappointing. | Monday, September 09, 2002
Contrary to what you might think, this letter signed "Mr. Z" printed in Savage Love recently was not written by me. | Sunday, September 08, 2002
There was once a day when Pete Sampras would have been the hands down favourite to win the US Open. In recent days, critics were saying that he would never win a tournament again, let alone a Grand Slam. But at about 7:45pm EST today, he proved them all wrong. In stunning fashion, Pistol Pete captured his record fourteenth Grand Slam title at the ripe old age of 31, defeating long-time friend and foe Andre Agassi 6-3, 6-4, 5-7, 6-4. Though I have never really been a big fan of Pete Sampras, I have newfound respect for him. He maintained his position that he wouldn't keep on playing if he didn't think he could win another major and today he fulfilled his promise. This just might be a great time for him to retire and be remembered as one of the greatest players in the game. | A few days ago as I was walking home along Queen St. I decided to stop by Silver Snail to fill up my void of issues of The Amazing Spider-Man, I was disappointed to find that they didn't have any relevant issues to me in the critical area during the Gang War saga. To my delight, however, I found this graphic novel from 1986. And even more surprising was that it was still selling at cover price of $6.95. I snatched it up instantly. When I got home and opened it up to read, I was quite disappointed. The story was absolutely terrible. In the end though, it was nice to have one of those fairly scarce issues that I've only ever read about. In the mean time, I have to find some other comic shops to help me complete my collection. | |
